Combating financial barriers for Coachella Valley high school students on track for college
What is our Scholarship Fund?
The ECV for Change Scholarship Fund is an initiative focused on making college more accessible for students in our program. In 2018-2019, 93% of students in the Coachella Valley Unified School District were eligible for free/reduced price meals. With our scholarship fund, we hope to alleviate the burdensome costs associated with higher education for students in the Coachella Valley. We want to ensure that financial barriers are not an obstacle for students when they apply to and later, attend college.
In February 2021, we launched the #ECVforChangeScholarshipFund digital campaign on social media to jumpstart our scholarship fund. Each participant who donated to our fund (via Venmo) received a raffle ticket for a chance to win a free ECV for Change T-shirt.
At the close of our campaign, we raffled off T-shirts to 6 generous donors. We’re happy to share that we raised over $1,000 for the ECV for Change Scholarship Fund. Thank you to everyone who participated!
